CuriOdyssey is a science playground and zoo at Coyote Point in San Mateo where families see wild animals up-close and real scientific phenomena in kid-friendly exhibits. CuriOdyssey's wild animals are rescued native wildlife that include bobcats, a river otter, fox, opossum, eagles, owls and more.

Pirates may hear the call of the wild on a visit to CuriOdyssey at Coyote Point in San Mateo. Located next to the Coyote Point Marina where ships are secured and Coyote Point Beach where you can get your feet wet, this excellent educational facility goes mostly unnoticed by the rest of the Bay Area.

Coyotes were not endemic to the area when it was named, though the museum includes one captured in a local neighborhood who was far too friendly to survive in its natural habitat. In addition, you’ll see owls, badgers, snakes, a bobcat, ringtail, and world famous banana slugs, beloved by the students at nearby UC Santa Cruz. The museum includes aquariums, computers, games, films and a wildlife habitat which features native Bay Area live animals and plants.
