Overnight Folsom Lake Guided Jr Ranger Program and Camping

Join us for a two day/one night group camping trip at Folsom Lake State Park while learning about it's history, ecology and geology with a program designed by the park rangers specifically for our group.

During our stay, we will take a ranger guided nature walk where our group will learn about the natural and cultural history of the park. We will learn about the early inhabitants of the area, the plants and animals that reside in the park and their importance to the ecosystem, and park conservation. During the walk, we will be split into two groups, one for grades 5-12 and the other for grades K-4 so that our students are able to explore these concepts in an age specific setting. Your child must have a chaperone. If you have a child in each group, a chaperone will be required for each child. At the end of our trip, our students will have an opportunity to earn a Jr Ranger Badge and become Jr Rangers. 

Important information along with campground details will be emailed a week prior to your trip. In addition to submitting an order with your charter, you will need to register here to hold your spot.

Please Note:

• Please dress appropriately for the weather. If there is light rain, we will still be going ahead with the trip. Please plan and dress accordingly. Winter weather can oftentimes get warm in the daytime and have chilly night time temps so bring enough bedding to be comfortable. It can also get windy so be sure to bring plenty of layers. It is always wise to bring an extra set of clothing and towels as we will be spending some time exploring the lake area.
• Please bring sunscreen. 
• Each family and/or student/gaurdian is responsible for thier own food and camping equipment for the duration of their stay. 
• Price for the tour is for each person attending, including babies as they are included in the headcount.
• An adult chaperone is required to accompany student(s) on a field trip regardless of the student(s)' age or grade level(s).
• There is potable water, campfire rings, showers (fee required), firewood avaible for purchase and picnic tables. There is cell reception at the campground and there are several stores within a 5 minute drive if you forgot any groceries or supplies. 
• We will spend the first day setting up camp at 2:00pm and then beginning our program at 3:30pm with the Park Rangers. After the program, we will be having dinner and sharing our adventures by the campfire. An evening nature hike is optional for anyone that would like to particpate.
• On Friday, after breakfast, we will be heading to the lake to explore while learning more about the park's history. We will need to be packed up and ready to leave the campground by 12pm that day. For those that would like to have lunch at the lake, there are nearby public picnic tables. 
• While we love pets, they will need to stay home for this event.

• AGE/GRADE REQUIREMENTS: All ages
• ALLERGY ALERT: Please let us know right away if your student has a food allergy so we can make any necessary arrangements to better protect them
• CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY: Tickets for field trips will remain on sale until sold out or at the cut off date listed on the event, whichever comes first. Changes to your order can be made only while the field trip is open. Once a field trip closes, we are unable to offer refunds. 
Issues with orders such as insufficient or incomplete funds withdrawal may be subject to cancellation.
• CHAPERONE POLICY FOR TEACHER-LED FIELD TRIPS: Instructional funds may be used to order 1 adult/chaperone ticket per 4 enrolled students and 2 adult/chaperone tickets per 5 or more enrolled students.
An adult chaperone is required to accompany student(s) on a field trip regardless of the student(s)' age or grade level(s).
• FOOD/DRINK RESTRICTIONS: Each family and/or student/chaperone is responsible for their own food and water for the duration of the trip
• MEETING INSTRUCTIONS: A week prior to this event, we will be sending out an email with more campground details and site numbers. 
• PARKING INSTRUCTIONS: There is room for one vehicle per family/student/chaperone.
• SICK POLICY: To ensure the health and safety of all attendees, please do not attend a field trip if you or your student(s) is ill or showing possible signs of illness.
• RELEASE OF LIABILTY: When registering, make sure to read and understand the Release of Liabiliy Policy before submitting your order
